The Redding Arts Project is dedicated to building community through the performing arts and providing a home for artists in Northern California. Our School of Dance offers dance classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Modern. Our School of Musical Theatre offers classes in Musical Theatre, Voice and Show Choir. Welcome to The Redding Arts Project, a Home for Artists.
TheRAP School of Dance offers instruction in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Contemporary.
TheRAP School of Musical Theatre offers instruction in children's show choir and Musical Theatre.
Our classes range in age from 2.5 through Adult.
We are the official training school of Redding City Ballet and Redding Theatre Company.
The Redding Arts Project, where beautiful talents flourish!
We teach to the whole dancer with an anatomy-based curriculum to ensure safety of growing bodies.
Child and Youth Programs
Report
Children's classes start at age 3 and are designed as a lead-up to formal ballet and tap instruction and introduce children to music and movement through a structured progression that emphasizes creativity and group interaction.
Our Youth classes begin at age 7 with Pre-Ballet and Level I Tap.
Level placement is determined in May for returning students, taking into consideration testing and input from the previous year's instructor.
New students will be evaluated in a placement class during the first week of the August session.
Teen/Adult Open Program
Report
The Redding Arts Project offers opportunities for dancers of all ages- no matter their skill level.
We believe it is never too late to learn and benefit from the artistry and the technique of dance.
Teen/Adult Open classes are taught to the skill level of the majority of students.
New for 2019- a daytime Lyrical Jazz class with a complimentary Movement and Play class for kids 18month-3yrs.
Take advantage of free childcare while you take class.
Also new are Contemporary and Hip Hop.
All students should wear ballet attire or clothing that allows for fluid movement during class.
Musical Theatre Program
Report
Our goal is to give young performers a strong foundation in the fundamentals of Musical Theatre; including vocal training, acting and dance.
Our summer camp program provides students ages 8-20 with an immersive experience in all aspects of the theatre.
Participants enjoy our fun program with a focus on the essentials of musical theatre training.
Equal importance is placed on acting, singing and dancing.
During this 6-week program, students work alongside their talented peers and a professional creative team to rehearse and perform a full-scale musical theatre production.
Dress Code
Report
Our dress code is designed to encourage unity and discipline among our students.
All students in our Children and Youth programs our required to wear the appropriate color leotard.
Mid-length to long hair is required to be pulled back into a neat bun and fastened securely using pins and a hair net.
Short hair needs to be fastened away from face.
Students/parents must be responsible for the necessary supplies to have hair done before class time.
Leotards, tights, yoga pants or leggings or other close-fitting clothes that you can move it are acceptable.
