The Carolina Strut Performing Arts Centre is the oldest most well known dance studio on the Crystal Coast. We have been instructing for over 45 years, offering superior dance education to students from Carteret, Craven, and Onslow counties. The Carolina Strut offers the largest variety of classes and programs in Carteret County from the most qualified and passionate instructors.
Recreational or competitive dancers will recieve the highest quality dance education, in a family environment. 2019 Association of Dance Conventions and Competitions- Studio of Excellence Award Winner! The Studio of Excellence Award is given by participating ADCC member competitions to a studio of their choice that best exemplifies the values of The ADCC, which include working together and striving for excellence.

THE CAROLINA STRUT offers classes in Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, Pre-Pointe, Jazz, HipHop, Contemporary, Acro/ Cheer dance, Musical theatre, Conditioning, and Get the Wiggles Out!
Our only requirements that students wishing to take Jazz and Lyrical must take Ballet and pointe students must take two Ballet classes.
We begin taking students as young as 18 months.
These dancers are our Get the Wiggles Out students, a class developed by our previous owner Ms. Melanie Marcott.
Get the Wiggles Out is designed to not only teach the very basic dance steps, but also body awareness, how to stay on your spot and follow the leader.
Our only requirements that students wishing to take Jazz and Lyrical must take Ballet and pointe students must take two Ballet classes.

These extra opppurtunities are designed to allow our dancers more performance opportunities.
They are set up in a way not to force dancers into them, but to be there if they are interested.
Performance classes take place outside of regular classes so that dancers who can't, or don't want to participate, are still taking place in proper training.
There are various levels of commitment within our Performance Teams.
We have a non-competitive Performance Team, a group Production Routine, The Strut Competition Team, and the Mini Strut Competition Team.

The Shooting Stars Performance Team performs at local events such as the NC Seafood Festival, National Night Out, Newport Pig Cooking Contest, Havelock Chili Festival and many other events.
This group also performs on televised events such as the Cystic Fibrosis Telethon.
The Shooting Stars Performance Team is coached by Ms. Jodi Justice who is also head of our early education department.

Solos, Duos, And Trios

Solos/Duos/Trios - These dances are an honor and a privilege and should not be taken lightly.
We will be evaluating every dancer currently doing one of these dances as well as new dancers that want to start them to be sure it is a good fit for them.
The dancer must be putting forth a good effort in all of their regular classes, be an asset to the group dances they are in and have a positive attitude regarding their classes, their dances and representing the studio on and off stage at competition.
