Serving the Northwest Columbus community since 2006, Powell Dance Academy provides dance classes for students ages 2-adult. Whether dancing competitively or for fun, we believe that learning dance in a healthy, creative environment expands imaginations, builds self-esteem, promotes self-discipline, and establishes a sense of teamwork and cooperation.
Powell's premier dance studio offering an assorted curriculum of Tot, Pre-Dance, Ballet/Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Gymnastics, and adult classes. Conveniently scheduled on mornings, evenings, and weekends, our classes fit easily into even the busiest lifestyle. We maintain a family-friendly studio with age-appropriate music, choreography and costumes, while still giving dancers & instructors the freedom to be expressive and current.

Alyson graduated from Wittenberg University with a B.A. in Psychology and a Dance minor.
During her years as a Wittenberg Dance Company member, Alyson choreographed numerous works including Number 4, El Jardin de Aquarila, Bane, and Weather, which was adjudicated at the American College Dance Festival in 2001.

Keeping our students healthy and providing a safe environment to learn are our TOP priorities this dance year.
All PDA staff will remain masked inside the facility until the CDC directs otherwise regardless of vaccination status.
Unvaccinated patrons must wear a mask in the facility at all times, including during classes and in public spaces.
Instances of mask use in Tiny Tots (age 2), during heavy cardio, and/or during Acro dance classes will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
PDA will use the policies set forth by the Olentangy Local Schools as a resource to determine in-studio policies.

Parties and Facility Rentals

Birthday parties are scheduled for 1.5 hour blocks.
Once all the guests arrive, staff members will take the first 45 minutes to organize the group and teach a dance class created to suit the birthday child!
The second half of the party is yours to enjoy, open presents, blow out candles and eat cake.
All parties include a VIP party area (building is closed to the public), tables and chairs, tableware, cups, napkins, teaching staff, and clean-up.
You provide all food, beverages, and decorations.
